I, as one, have got to tell you and anyone else that I come across, this compass has everything that a person should want in a compass. Your compass does not need anything more as far as I am concerned. If a person wants more bells and whistles....there are plenty more compasses out there to make everyone happy. All I need is the latest map so I can find out how much the magnetic north has moved since the last time I checked. Thank you very much. Michael said that bye for now my friend.

What th? A free apt that works and no ads? Someone really messed up I think! It works great, better accuracy than a lot I've tried! I was army infantry and we depended on our compass and maps! That was back in the day! I love this app, so they will probably change it! Lol

Let it be known that I NEVER rate apps nor donate to them. That said, I'm writing this review after having just donated a cup of coffee to these developers. I've used countless compass apps all of which are cringe worthy compared to this one. The elegance, simplicity, aesthetics and accuracy are to be revered by all. "Outstanding Work!" Then, add in the "not so fine" print when you initially open this app stating that they don't collect any information. Nothing. This is the gold standard!!!!!!!!

The compass seems to always display 4-7 degrees different than my GPS unit even after recalibration. The Altimeter feature does not work. There are settings for feet, meter, yards, but elevation is nowhere to be found on the screen. Disappointing

Usefulness depends on the way a user utilises this app. Refresh rate is very good. I would suggest the developers to give the option to display the heading on desktop even if the app is minimised. Calculating a reverse heading automatically will also help for amateur users. Overall a very good app.

Best basic compass. Totally free. No ads!!! Very accurate. Magnetic north matches my Suunto Finland backpackers compass eyeball perfectly. BTW, to calibrate make a figure 8 on a vertical plane, not a horizontal plane. Otherwise calibration won't work.

This compass does exactly what I selected it for. It points North, and it does it very clearly without any messing about. Most importantly, it doesn't force me to deal with persnickety useless features. It's a great app for navigation assistance on my motorcycle.

Both headings can be disrupted by magnetic fields, I grabbed this to make sure my little keychain compass wasn't flaking out because a Magnetometer was saying it was getting interference from Magnets on my floor. Well, it was right, and even in true mode with high accuracy on they still made this compass go south when facing north. Better off with a Magnetometer as it stands right now...or a sun dial lol. Sorry guys.

Cant calibrate. North varies up to 40° different in every direction. Problem could be heavy forest is blocking signal or satellite coverage is poor. But the purpose of using a compass is so you dont get lost and die while exploring. Cant do the one thing it's designed for.

Am on an island and in a boat where fog can disorient us. It's also helpful when orienting objects to get maximum sun. Great for checking your direction on a hike. Very simple, easy to read and use. Will still get a good magnetic compass. But this is a great app to have available.

I am an exploration surveyor and this app is extremely helpful... I have found this app is very accurate in regards to finding north. I work in the Platinum, Chrome & Magnetite mining industry. Where most conventional magnetic compasses are unable to point reliably to magnetic north this app supercede almost all my expectations.... I will recommend this product to anyone who needs a better way to calculate magnetic north in places or at times when there isn't a reliably landmark, sun to use...

Have tried several ad-free compass apps and like this one the best. It's the simplest, which I appreciate (other apps have lots of bells and whistles I don't want that make the app more complicated) and it has the prettiest, most elegant and colorful appearance.

Absolutely fantastic no ads simple elegant and 100% accurate. Would highly recommend. It works without the location on. So it saves battery. No GPS required. Options for colors of the actual compass. Again... Absolutely fantastic!!!!!!!!!!

I rarely write reviews and never five 5 stars. But this app deserves it. I've tried about 10 different compass apps and this is the best by far. Well done to developers. Those reviews that complain about calibration clearly don't know how compasses work. The app is telling you when accuracy is low and fixing it. If your compass app isn't doing that then you are getting low accuracy readings. Oh and I love the sun and moon positions. A lovely touch.

Works very well, shows all the information one could hope for, and doesn't require activating Google spyware like some others require now. BLESS YOU! And I just discovered it'll cut and paste gps location directly to send in text msgs, etc. YES! EDIT New version still works perfectly. ONLY compass software I've found that does. Five stars

Had high hopes but over time it loses calibration and when attempting to re calibrate by the awkward method of steering it round in a figure of 8 so many times only to find it refused to calibrate I lost the will to live with the silly app. I'm going to uninstall it and look for something more automatic and reliable.

This compass is very accurate. Those that complain about direction indicated haven't calibrated the compass. It does take 2.5 seconds to calibrate each time I open it. Small time to pay for it's excellence. I also just received a Garmin86 SC, a handheld GPS tracking device. It cost $449. And the compass on that and this one align perfectly. As everyone else notes, NO ADS. love this app.

Was enjoying this compass app, it's certainly better than others I've tried and very accurate. BUT every time you open it you get a notice right across the compass, to turn on Google's location service which isnt required for the compass to work and which I don't use. Every time I tap 'no thanks' and every time I open it I'm nagged again. Why can't the app remember my choice? Why can't the notice be disabled in Setting? Serious oversight by the developer and enough to make me uninstall it.
