They are consistent on paying you on your playdate if it isn't a traditional payday. Early pay not so much. They say checks don't pend, but if you have a payroll provider that shows when they send their checks, they do. They won't show you if it's pending either, so they can keep the claim. Not sure how legal that is, but I haven't not been paid at least on my paydate yet. The %5 apy only applies if you have more than 5k too ..

I used to really like this app, previously rated it 4 stars. The past year it has been terrible, blocking me from withdrawing my own money at the ATM on multiple occasions (embarrassing). Not allowing me to transfer my own money from Varo debit account to Varo credit account. I'm sure these are just technical issues, but they are happening way to frequently. And when I tried to talk to someone through their chat system. I got a message saying that they were busy, and to try again later.. 👎🏾

This app is really cool. I have been banking with Varo for almost a year and they let me get a interest free loan that I was late on because I forgot and they didn't even charge me late fees nor did they automatically make me pay it back with my next deposit... Thanks Varo... also they have a credit building card Varo Believe and it raised my credit score by almost 150 points and like I said I have only been banking with them not even a full year yet... Awesome banking app... Thanks again Varo!!

*Varo, I love you!* About 5 months ago my bank ( with whom I had an account with for over 30+ years ) suddenly and without warning or notification closed my account, 4 days before my SSD direct deposit dropped. Due to that, it took almost 2 months to get my check, or rather half of my check (printed at the office). Needless to say, we ended up homeless, no phone, no car. Almost impossible to open a new account without at least 2 of these. That's when Varo saved the day! I am forever grateful 🙏

I'm not able to move money out of this app. Seems like a scam. I link accounts but I can't get it out. I can put it in fine :(. I also tried to buy something with the Varo credit card but it was declined. And I contacted support and they said you can't transfer to banks just PayPal etc. I tried to transfer to PayPal but there is no option to transfer on the app. So far, useless and adds to stress when I need money. The whole point of having a bank is BEING ABLE TO ACCESS YOUR OWN $

This bank/company are frauds and shouldn't be used by anyone. These m.f. closed my account with no reason why. I looked up on reddit for other issues regarding this and there are so many people who've had there account(s) closed with no reason. I tried to deposit a check with taking pics, they say they have to review them and the next day after I receive an email saying they closed my account and gave no reason. I had to call issuer of check and have them cancel and send a new one. DONT USE THEM

Service, Quality, Adequate Customer Support Interaction has dwindled significantly. It's like pulling eye teeth to speak with someone. Telephone prompts are horrific. Turn around time for a resolution is non-existent. However; if you get the chance to speak with someone they still tend to be professional but not proficient in their job description about

I set up my Varo account and I did not receive my debit card in the mail. It's been two months. I tried to follow the FAQ's to solve the problem. The "Card Services" tab that's suppose to be in the app IS NOT THERE! So there was no way for me to report the card lost, stolen or to request a replacement. I called customer service twice and was finally able to speak to a REAL person on the live chat. Will I receive my debit card soon? I have no idea. Makes me doubt the legitimacy of the bank & app

Between this and Chime, I am very pleased with Varo. I've had them for about two years now and it's even better now that Varo Believe is on and I can up my credit score with them on top of the credit cards I have. I've never had any problems with my direct deposits, all have be on time or even early. Will continue to use this bank until further notice!

Vero is an amazing app! I love how easy it is to send money to anyone using the Varo to Varo it's an simple-to-use app and me and my boyfriend love it so much... I just wish that they would allow us to send more than $200 at a time to another varo user. I hate that you cannot send larger amounts than that more than once a day other than that this is a great app to use. We even get our pay 24 hours earlier then we did with the other card we had that offered paychecks up to 2 days early... I ♥️ it

They don't have many fees, & they have some nice features like Varo to anyone. A lot of features are locked if you don't have direct deposit set up like Zelle and the borrow feature regardless of how much you manually deposit. I had a hard time connecting Varo to a lot of my accounts and several of the Perks I signed up for, I never received compensation. If they make an error, they do not own up to it and fix it either. They put the wrong name on my statements so I lost money & they don't care

the banks pretty good I haven't had very many issues with them they even let me upload my check to the mobile check feature and I can wait a few days so I can get it cashed for free for most places try to charge you a fee. you can also get pre-qualified for the varo believe card which is a way to build up your credit as long as you get qualifying direct deposit of over $200 and more it's pretty cool the way that they have its it designed cuz you can also send money to anyone.

It has really become an incredible banking app. it helps you build credit. Saving account is amazing and also you can get a small cash advance if you direct deposit your paycheck into your account. It's an all-around user friendly app and it feels incredibly safe to use. Thanks Varo!

Direct deposits always late or missing for a while. I don't understand why. It's not my payroll provider when thousands of people are having the same or worse issues. This 4.7 score for the app is impossible. It's really unbelievable. I was hoping these issues would change. The amount of problems many are having is honestly scaring me. I had good hopes for varo, I'm going to have to find a new bank. It's unfortunate. Good luck to all other users.

Then using this app for almost 3 years, direct deposit for over a year. I had a very high vero advance painted on and all of a sudden. I'm only eligible for $350 less. My spending habit to the same. They said that they can't really give the reason that very, very unhappy. With that, trying to get a hold of someone as impossible as chat bot, not being able to talk to a human sucks

Love using Varo, truly believe it's the future of banking! BUT with innovation comes a few bugs. I lost my phone and it became almost impossible to access my account without reactivating that phone due to strict security (which isn't a bad thing). If all of my finances were locating in my Varo account I may have been up the creek without a paddle.

Varo is very easy to use and has amazing perks for your favorite retail stores or restaurants! The card did not take long to arrive, and I have had no troubles with the app itself. I've also had no issues with the card which is amazing! The awesome thing is it's FREE and there are no hidden costs or fees! If you're looking for a safe, reliable, online banking go with Varo!

I have used countless banking applications over the past couple of years, including the previous Varo app that was technically a prepaid debit card as opposed to a bank. The app itself is easy to use, intuitive and well designed. Banking features are GREAT AND being updated all the time. Covid has had a big impact on live customer service but that has been fairly universal.
